Wendy Knits!

Wendy Knits!

Mock apple pie brings back memories. I have not thought about it in years.
Maybe I will start baking and not knit as much, but what would I do with all my yarn?
I gues I will continue knitting and maybe just buy apple pies!

Purls Before Swine

Purls Before Swine

I know how it feels to put together a knitted sweater and find out....
I had mistakenly put in a sleeve as a front- what a disaster. I had to redo the sleeve. At least the whole thing was not destroyed and I had extra yarn.
Maybe next time I will pin or baste before sewing!

Just bought Stitch and Bitch Nation. I will browse through it later. I also have skeins and skeins of yarns. In fact I did it again- bought a new yarn at Michael's- at least new for me. Lion's Brand Suede- looked interesting, as do all the other yarns I must have!

I wish I could knit only for babies- such an up feeling. I have knitted scarfs and ponchos for my 36 year old cousin who is undergoing chemo and radiation.
I want to teach her how to knit. She really has a wonderful attitude, which will hopefully help make her a survivor!

Frog It!

Twins, how exciting, and double to knit for! Pinks and blue yarns must be all around you!
They are a great weight- good luck!

That Siddar yarn, for the shawl looks like it will be perfect. I have used many of their yarns and have always been pleased. Looking forward to seeing the completed shawl on your site.
I agree that is easier to do stockenette rather than attempting to keep a pattern going, near the edge.

Yarn Dreams

Yarn Dreams

My husband and son were at the Super Bowl- they said it was, an experience of a life-time."
I on the other had stayed home and knitted yet another scarf.
Although I knit sweaters, blankets, scarfs, etc. I have never knitted socks.
On the other hand my friend has knitted socks for over 40 years and is trying to convince me to try a pair. Maybe some day.

Yarn-A-Go-Go: Couches

Yarn-A-Go-Go: Couches

I really can understand a knitting habit. I am trying to curtail the buying of more yarn, at least until I use up some of what I have sitting in bins. It is really hard to ignore a beautiful new yarn.

I am trying not to go to Michael's this week, although some good yarns are on sale.

Some good sites to get ribbon. The ribbon belt idea seems interesting. It might be fun to try when I stop knitting for a minute or two!
Actually I am between knitting projects, so the belt might be fun to try.

Phoebe Gleeson - Stretchy bind off?

Phoebe Gleeson - Stretchy bind off?

Binding off in the rib pattern usually looks fine.
I recently discovered the 3 needle bind-off. If possible, I put the shoulder stitches from fronts and backs onto a stitch holder. Then I use 3 needles to bind off the front and backs together. It leaves a great, professional looking seam.
