I am getting ready to go to the knitting class where I am sort of the insructor. A lovely woman is the official instructor but.... I am a long time knitter, but have never considered myself to be an exceptional knitter. Being around other knitters has sort of convinced me that I am quite good.
I find it amazing that some people do not even think about knitting gauges. It is interesting to see something I have knitted done by someone else. My good friend, who is a good knitter, is oblivious to needle size and yarn gauge. She often ends up with sweaters that are 12 sizes to big, or just misshapen.
Back to my knitting class- I sit there and laugh when people think I can help them. Actually sometimes I can help. One woman found a vestthat she began 16 years ago. She showed it to the knitting instructor who gave her wrong information. She made the poor woman rip out one front, because she did not understand why there was no armhole decrease. I looked at it and realized it was a straight armhole. So now hopefully the woman can reknit the front and have a beautiful vest.
I enjoy the knitting class as the woman are friendly and interesting. Time to go!
